Writing: My history with the Princess cliché

Posted on January 18, 2019 by Tomas

Princesses are the subject of several clichés in children’s tales and eventually in fantasy. I’d say that “marry the princess and live happily ever after” is one of the biggest and oldest clichés. I have some history with it – and I’ll share some of it today.

Posted on January 16, 2019 by Tomas

My second new read of 2019 is the end to a trilogy of short fantasy books. It follows two books I’ve read and reviewed back in Summer 2017.

Posted on January 11, 2019 by Tomas

Posted on January 8, 2019 by Tomas

I’m returning to the topic once again, this time with some thoughts on choosing the right words. It’s something I’ve got into a discussion about recently while seeing advice/feedback on my foray into this type of content.

Warning: potentially sensitive content!

Book review: The Orphans of Haven

Posted on January 6, 2019 by Tomas

Sequel to Drakin: The Story of Raiya I read some two months ago, this book takes place some 10 years later. Among the three candidates, this one “won” when I was choosing what to read first this year.

Forging a character: Princess Nadyenne

Posted on January 4, 2019 by Tomas

I am continuing my presentation of the characters. This time, I am introducing one of the youngest characters age-wise but one of the oldest when it comes to her first appearance: Princess Nadyenne Crystelan.

Welcome, 2019 – my plans

Posted on January 1, 2019 by Tomas

I am, since some time, avoiding the word “resolutions”. When it comes to my hobbies, instead of hard-set goals, I look at it and set some range of what I’d like to do. So, what are my plans for 2019?

Book review: The Sigil blade

Posted on December 30, 2018 by Tomas

The last book I’ve read in 2018 is a re-read of the very first self-published book I’ve read, back in 2016. This was a mixed-feelings return, for reasons I’ll mention later.
