Posted on June 14, 2020 by Tomas

In this post, I’ll look into some cases when Sci-Fi inspired my writing, despite the fact I’m writing fantasy.

Fiction: Best gear against zombies?

Posted on February 23, 2020 by Tomas

In this post, I’ll take a bit different direction than usual: while related to fantasy and possibly Sci-Fi, I’ll try a realistic look at what gear would be useful in case of zombie apocalypse.

Book review: Found in Amber

Posted on January 8, 2020 by Tomas

The sequel to the Sci-Fi romance Lost in Amber (my review) had came out a while ago but I only got to it now. The sequel builds not only on the SF part of the plot but also on the lighthearted writing with many quips and funny moments even when things get dire.

Book review: An Empire of Ashes (Drakin #3)

Posted on October 1, 2019 by Tomas

The first book in this loosely-connected series was my first touch of Sci-Fi/Fantasy mix. The second book followed a new set of characters and an old enemy. This one takes place 200 years later, with (almost) all-new cast.

Spatial memory, in life and fiction

Posted on April 7, 2019 by Tomas

In this post, I’ll share some thoughts about spatial memory – and how tools of our life (navigation) and in fiction (teleports) affect the ability to find one’s way around.

Book review: Lost in Amber

Posted on March 17, 2019 by Tomas

My first “out of my usual genre boundaries” read of 2019 was taken with this mix of Sci-Fi and romance. Intrigued by my discussion with the author in the later parts of her writing process, I’ve decided to give the book a try.

Book review: Drakin, the story of Raiya

Posted on November 2, 2018 by Tomas

After two Sci-Fi books (Jurrasic Park and Resist), I got to read a book that is some kind of a mix of Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Another step into the unknown for me – and one that worked for me.

Book review: Resist by M. Van

Posted on October 21, 2018 by Tomas

In April, I first ventured into the waters (more like open space, huh?) of self-published Sci-Fi by reading M. Van’s Recall (review). Now, half a year later, I noticed the second book came out recently and went for it. This review will probably be quite short, as is the book.

Book Review: Jurrasic Park

Posted on October 14, 2018 by Tomas

This is a read that was in the queue for a while – I bought it on sale around the release of the newest movie. Yet, it was something I was considering reading so I went for it.
