With just a few hours left of May, it’s time for me to reflect on the past month.
May seem to have passed in a blur. But it had a lot of nice moments. While I’m still quite busy at work, the nice weather has given me plenty of opportunities for hiking. I’ve already shared photos and memories from the three-day weekend trip I took at the beginning of the month last week, and it was a nice combination of relatively gentle landscape with some rough beauty.
Aside from that, I also went on three solo hikes – which I’ll describe in a separate post soon, as usual. As the last one was yesterday, I’m yet to download and sort the photos. But I won’t leave it without a teaser picture – one of the hikes was a long-awaited return to a location I visited back in 2017, and I was planning to take my sister there for almost three years. So, for now, I’ll share a photo from back in 2017…

When it comes to reading, as I mentioned at the end of April, I went for a re-read of a 4-book series, and I’m halfway through the fourth book, so my reading is keeping pace with my goal. Unfortunately, being almost done with the re-read means I’ll soon again face the hard question: what to read next?
When it comes to writing, I managed to give it some time after my weekend trip, fixing minor issues through the first half og the book, and adjusting some of the scenes I needed to give some attention, focusing on details, as well as character insights and emotions. More such changes will need to be made, and it still seems that at least one chapter might be in need of a major rework. My busier period at work will end at the end of June, so I’m keeping hopes for July and onward.
Speaking of the upcoming weeks, they’ll also be quite active. My uncle is coming to visit us for the month, and chances are I’ll go hiking with him at some point – if the weather cooperates. June is often the month we face the first summer storms – even though it’s not technically summer yet – so it can be tricky. I’m also looking at tackling some of my long-term hiking goals, but that’ll depend on more than just weather.
So, that’s a quick summary of the past month. I hope yours was great and that the coming weeks will bring a lot of joy. Until then…
