After the planned break in second half of December, I’ll have to admit that January 2021 brought little progress. But all is not that bad as it may seem…
The main reason why my writing is, for the moment, on halt is that the further progress on book two will be based on beta feedback, and while one beta has already started reading and second one should start relatively soon… I probably won’t start edigint until I have their opinion on at least somewhat larger picture. I guess that may be something between 10 and 15 chapters. Even then, the edits will be probably in two stages – the first one will be fixing outright mistakes (as those don’t require any major context) and the second stage will be when I have feedback at least on a full sequence.
In the meantime, I’m trying to look into ways to spread the word about my book, preferably something that won’t bankrupt me. This is probably the toughest part of being a self-published writer: people won’t miraculously know that your book is out there. The main goal would be to look into ways to get some reviews, and if you know any way that has decent results and doesn’t break any rules, I’ll welcome your advice and experience.
In the meantime, I’m thinking forward, about what changes will need to be made to book three even without having feedback on book two, but I have little to go on in that direction either.
Thus, this month’s update is quite short, to the point I considered skipping it. I hope the next month will bring at least some progress. So, that’s it in the meantime. I hope you’re all doing well.
