11/2024 Summary

November is over. A month that’s usually dark, gloomy, and sad wasn’t as bad this year.

As I shared last week, I managed four hikes this month, which is definitely a success. Especially given the beautiful autumn colors. I also had a chance to enjoy the first snow, in a small amount, during the last hike of the month.

Given that I finished my reading goal at the end of October (during my flight from the overseas holiday), I took it easy this time with one re-read and then going through my own drafts, hoping to spark some inspiration for when I have some time for myself during Christmas. What this led to, aside from noticing some pesky typos, was spotting some sections where I could condense or cut some information that, during the past editing processes, ended up being duplicated within just a few chapters – so maybe stepping away for quite some time helped me to see such things better as I’m no longer as deeply familiar with every page of the story as I was before.

I plan to do some reading through December, though I have yet to choose whether I’ll go for something new, or grab one of the series I was considering to re-read on my holiday but didn’t choose at that point.

Speaking about the trip, I also managed to download and sort most of the photos (I shared some of those in my recent posts), though I have yet to catch up with my hiking records, which is something I might put into my schedule in the next month as well.

Meanwhile, returning to work after the October holiday meant I was quite busy and often felt tired, something aided by the generally gloomy vibe November tends to give, more so when half of the month was foggy. Now, though, with the catch-up finished and work on track, I have a good chance for December to be a month when I can rest a bit and find time for the things I struggled to make time for during the year. Time will tell whether I’ll succeed…

For now, I hope your November was kind to you and that the looming end of the year won’t be too harsh on you. Until next time…

    • The weather has a real talent to mess up with our plans. But, in all honesty, we [humanity as a whole] probably deserve nature’s wrath. But that’s a different topic, I guess.
