My September summary is coming a bit late, I know, but I was unable to judge the month at its end for a reason I’ll get to in a bit.
September was a month of variety for me. I started the month with a hike that was one of the hardest so far, despite the August mishap. The first week was quite busy as I was wrapping up some smaller tasks for the hiking club related to next year’s plan.

The second weekend was, for a change, culture-focused: the town where I live runs a concert as a celebration of its anniversary, and for the last couple of years, they extended it to two days. Typically, a major metal band is the headline, and this year, both days had a band I just didn’t want to miss. Thus, despite the nice weather, I decided to skip hiking and get some culture. As someone who’s an early riser, going to bed late two days in a row was a taxing experience for me, more than for most, I guess. And that’s despite the fact the venue was just two blocks away and I could get home in almost no time.
In the following week, I finished the hiking club tasks, and was looking forward for the weekend, with the next hike, which was just as beautiful and just as hard. I’ve described both this and the first hike already last week, with a lot of pictures – in last week’s post.

After that, I was a bit swamped at work, which took a lot of my energy. The next weekend was also rainy, so I skipped hiking again (though I was leaving the decision for the last moment) and instead visited my grandparents.
At the end of the month, I went for a four-day hiking trip which ended on the 1st October, hence why I couldn’t post a summary – I couldn’t expect what might happen there, so I instead prepared and scheduled the post about the first two September hikes. This autumn trip was something different – a beautiful place with few trails and even fewer people, but great to clear my mind. And I avoided any health-based mishaps, though we ended up stuck in traffic on the way there.
And, during the trip, I finally got myself back to reading again, even if at a slow pace. So that’s something as well.
I haven’t yet sorted through the photos from the last trip, but I’ll try to get through them soon so I can share them. For now, I hope your September has been good to you and that October is going well.
