June is often one of my favorite times of year – a lot of daylight and warmth that beckons me to enjoy my outdoorsy hobbies, but I also managed to enjoy my time indoors as well.
Reading
June doesn’t stray much from the pace I’ve set for this year: I managed two books (reviewed in my previous two posts), started another, and also doing a second beta read for one of my writing friends.
Writing
I’ve returned to some light checks of book three for errors and consistency with past changes, and reached the final sequence, where I made some changes to the final battle. I’m also wondering in what way I should wrap things up, but that’s a question for the future. For now, I plan to return to drafting book two during the summer, as I mentioned a month ago.
Hiking
In June, I broke my rule of “1 hiking free weekend allowed” and managed to go hiking all four weekends, even though I got some damp clothes for that effort – June is typical for rain showers and sudden but short storms. I avoided the storms, at least, but not the rain showers.

June also ended up being a month of more or less awaited returns. This included a peak I visited 15 years ago. As usual, my travels will get a separate post, maybe two, in the coming weeks.
Personal
After two years, I had my general check-up. I was sent for some extra examination, but everything turned out okay. I admit I don’t know what all the items on the blood test mean, but they’re all in the norm, aside from one, which is just a bit below.
With the summer upon us (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere), it’s time for some warm and bright days. I hope to keep up with my hiking as well as my other hobbies. Just as well, I hope your summer will be gentle and generous to you with a lot of memories.
